For users in northern regions, the most frustrating issue is streetlights failing to light up in winter. Ordinary lithium batteries experience a sharp capacity drop to below 50% at temperatures under -10°C, and may even trigger the BMS low-voltage protection, causing automatic shutdown.
To address this, SMTK has developed a low-temperature adaptive solution tailored for regions like New South Wales in Australia and similar temperate climates, where winters are mild and summers are hot. Our batteries are equipped with high-precision temperature sensors and a wide-temperature electrolyte formula, ensuring they can still deliver over 85% of their capacity even in -20°C environments.
For extremely cold regions (such as Northeast China), we also offer an optional heating module. It automatically activates when temperatures drop below 5°C, utilizing residual electricity from solar panels to “keep the battery warm” and ensure uninterrupted charging.
Say goodbye to winter “blackouts” with an SMTK battery built to withstand the cold.
