UN3480 vs UN3481 | Quick Guide for Lithium Battery Pack Shipping Classification

Working on a custom 13S2P lithium battery pack project recently.
Many customers get confused between UN3480 and UN3481, so I’d like to share a quick note:
✅ UN3480: Lithium batteries packed separately into cartons
✅ UN3481: Lithium batteries built inside plastic enclosures/cases

For this project, we will supply the battery pack only, with UN38.3 test report under UN3480 classification.
The BMS firmware is still in the design phase. Our engineering team will review the enclosure structure and follow up all technical questions once the design is finalized.
